Famous Brands is Africa’s leading food services franchisor, known for its iconic brands and reputation as a responsible franchisor. Our continued success lies in our ability to craft, grow and protect remarkable brands that meet the needs of an evolving consumer.

The Group began as a family business in the early sixties with the Steers brand. Today, our enterprise consists of an extensive, vertically integrated business model with 4 522 employees and operations across South Africa, selected African markets, the Middle East and the United Kingdom.

In November 2024, Famous Brands commemorated 30 years of being listed on the JSE in the Travel and Leisure sector. Today, our business model comprises four core pillars: Brands, Manufacturing, Logistics and Retail.

Performance highlights

Commemorated our 30 years as a listed company

In November 2024, Famous Brands marked the 30th anniversary since its listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE). The listing provided vital funding to grow, transform and create value for stakeholders.

Financial resilience

We delivered a solid financial performance with revenue growth, improved cash generation and a well-managed debt profile. These results are despite challenging operating conditions, weak economic growth, and constrained consumer spending. We continued to invest towards the capacity of the business to deliver growth and operational efficiencies.

Delivering on our ESG Framework

We are committed to reducing our environmental footprint, creating sustainable products and supporting the communities where we operate. In 2025, we operationalised our ESG Framework, which outlines our ESG targets.
