Our Integrated Annual Report demonstrates how our vision – to be a leading innovative, branded, franchised and food services business – drives our strategy and influences stakeholder dialogue within our evolving operating context.
This 2025 Integrated Annual Report (IAR or this report) is our primary report to stakeholders. The report covers our 2025 financial year from 1 March 2024 to 28 February 2025.
Report scope
The report covers the operational activities of Famous Brands Limited (Famous Brands or the Company), its subsidiaries (together referred to as the Group), and its associates in all territories where the Company operates. These territories are South Africa (SA), the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the rest of Africa and the Middle East (AME) and the United Kingdom (UK).
Unless stated otherwise, the statistics in this report pertain to the SA business (excluding our associates). Statistics related to a specific geographic territory are denoted as such.
We describe our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) objectives and initiatives, including detailed reporting on the performance against our ESG Framework, environmental impact and CSI.
Materiality of information
The Board approved management's basis for determining materiality for selecting the information disclosed in this report. This report provides information on all matters that are material to our value creation process. This includes matters that are most material to the development and execution of strategy and our ability to create stakeholder value and contribute to the Group's continued success. Our operating context , our strategy, our key stakeholders' interests and our key risks were considered when selecting the information included in this report.
Reporting frameworks and compliance
This report was prepared according to relevant regulations, standards and best practices. Famous Brands aligns its reporting with the following reporting requirements and principles:
- The International Integrated Reporting Framework, 2021.
- King IV Report on Corporate Governance™ for South Africa, 2016 (King IV).
- IFRS® Accounting Standards as issued by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB).
- The Companies Act, No. 71 of 2008, as amended (Companies Act).
- The SAICA Financial Reporting Guides as issued by the Financial Reporting Standards Council.
- The JSE Listings Requirements.
Oversight and assurance
The Group's combined assurance model here, leverages the assurance obtained from management and internal and external assurance providers, while a strong ethical environment and internal controls ensure compliance. We rely on our internal controls and management review to assure our internal financial and operational information.
Our consolidated and company financial statements are independently audited by KPMG Inc, as required by law and regulations with the objective of obtaining an opinion whether the financial statements are fairly presented and free from material misstatement. Our Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) certificate is verified by Honeycomb BEE Rating. Our annual greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions are assessed and verified by The Carbon Report.

Board responsibility statement
The Board of Directors (Board), assisted by the Audit and Risk and Social and Ethics Committees, acknowledges its responsibility for ensuring the integrity of the IAR and has applied its collective mind in preparing it. We are confident that the report accurately reflects the Group's performance and outlook in the short term (less than one year), medium term (one to three years), and long term (beyond three years).
Our reporting process
The Board believes that the report has, in all material respects, been presented according to the International Integrated Reporting Framework and addresses the Group's material matters. The Board authorised this report for release on 20 June 2025.
