Today, our enterprise consists of an extensive portfolio of\u00a0brands, a vertically integrated business model with trading operations in three continents. In 1994, the Steers Holdings company listed on the JSE in the Travel and Leisure sector.<\/p>\n<p>Our business model comprises four core pillars: Brands, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Retail. Under the Brand\u2019s pillar, Famous Brands operates franchised, master-licenced, and Company-owned restaurants.<\/p>\n<p>We use full business format franchising, in which our franchise partners use the franchisor\u2019s entire business concept, including the name, trademarks, copyright, know-how, and other intellectual property. We manage and protect our brands and provide our franchise partners with ongoing support to ensure that they deliver consistent brand experiences.<\/p>\n<p>Famous Brands earns sales-based royalties income (franchise fees revenue) based on a percentage of\u00a0these restaurant turnovers. Therefore, based on our business model, our customer is the franchise partner. <\/p>\n<div class=\"boxed\">\n<h4>Our key milestones<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>In 1963, the first Seven Steer opened in Highlands North, Johannesburg.<\/li>\n<li>The first Steers franchised restaurant opened in 1965. <\/li>\n<li>Lists on the JSE in 1994 under the name Steers Holdings Limited at the\u00a0initial public offer price of R1.<\/li>\n<li>Acquired the Debonairs Pizza brand in 1997. <\/li>\n<li>Launched the Fishaways brand in 1998. <\/li>\n<li>In 2003, acquired Wimpy SA.<\/li>\n<li>In 2004, Steers Holdings Limited was renamed Famous Brands Limited.<\/li>\n<li>Acquired the Wimpy UK brand in 2007. <\/li>\n<li>Acquired the Mugg &#038; Bean brand in 2009. <\/li>\n<li>Acquired the Milky Lane brand in 2011. <\/li>\n<li>Became a Level 2 B-BBEE contributor in 2023. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/famousbrands.co.za\/iar2024\/images\/p4.png\" alt=\"\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-6\">\n<h2>Our Brands pillar <\/h2>\n<p>Our portfolio of 16 world class brands offer an attractive business proposition to our franchise partners and quality menus to a wide spectrum of consumers. The portfolio is segmented into Leading (mainstream) Brands and Signature (niche) Brands. <\/p>\n<p>Leading Brands is further categorised as Quick Service and Casual Dining. Quick Service restaurants prioritise take away and delivery offerings with smaller sit-down areas, while Casual Dining offers a full-service, sit-down experience. Our Signature Brands offer a wide range of Casual Dining offerings. <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"col-md-6\">\n<div class=\"boxed\">\n<h4>Our restaurant network <\/h4>\n<ul class=\"with-span\">\n<li><span class=\"maroon-num count\">16<\/span> restaurant brands.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"maroon-num count\">2 914<\/span> restaurants <span class=\"maroon-num count\">2 778<\/span> Leading Brands and\u00a0<span class=\"maroon-num count\">136<\/span>\u00a0Signature Brands.<\/li>\n<li class=\"nudge\">A presence in <span class=\"maroon-num count\">18<\/span> countries.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"maroon-num count\">2 552<\/span> restaurants in SA.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"maroon-num count\">207<\/span> restaurants in SADC.<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"maroon-num count\">92<\/span> restaurants in AME. <\/li>\n<li><span class=\"maroon-num count\">63<\/span> restaurants in the UK. <\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div class=\"clearfix\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Our vertically integrated Supply Chain <\/h2>\n<p>The concept of vertical integration has been key to the Group\u2019s success since the first central kitchen opened in\u00a0Market\u00a0Street, Johannesburg, in 1971. Our back-end operations support our front-end brands.<\/p>\n<p>Our Supply Chain refers to our Manufacturing, Logistics and Retail operations. The primary goal of our Supply Chain is\u00a0to offer our franchise partners a competitive advantage through efficient supply, price certainty, product innovation and margin management. Our Manufacturing and Logistics operations support our Brands in SA, selected SADC and the AME countries. The Manufacturing, Logistics and Retail businesses are managed and measured in line with our Group\u2019s strategic objectives.  <\/p>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-4\">\n<div class=\"border-l supply\">\n\t\t <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"division center-block\" src=\"https:\/\/famousbrands.co.za\/iar2024\/images\/p5-1.png\" alt=\"\"> <\/p>\n<p>Our 11 Manufacturing plants are wholly owned or partly owned subsidiaries.
